Recently, Stephanie Lezcano, Director of the AES Panamá Foundation, participated in a panel organized by the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) titled "Eradicating Poverty: Strategies and Results of Social Protection." This event brought together leaders and experts from various sectors to discuss effective approaches in the fight against poverty in Panama, promoting the exchange of experiences and identifying concrete solutions.
During the presentation, the Entrepreneurship Program in Changuinola was highlighted, one of the key initiatives of the AES Panamá Foundation that promotes economic and social development in vulnerable communities. The importance of fostering local entrepreneurship as a tool to break the cycle of poverty was underscored, emphasizing that these projects not only generate income but also empower participants by equipping them with essential skills for the future.
The significance of collaboration between public agencies, such as MIDES, and the private sector to carry out effective social investments was stressed. The speech highlighted the tangible results of these partnerships in the Nancé de Riscó District in Changuinola, where the Foundation has promoted projects that strengthen the entrepreneurial capacity of residents, providing training, resources, and continuous support to ensure the success of their initiatives.
