December 16, 2024
This year, AES Panama commemorated AES’ Values Day with the motto “Doing the Right Thing,” organizing a series of corporate volunteering activities in communities nationwide. These initiatives reflect the company’s commitment to education, health and well-being – fundamental pillars of the values guiding its work.
In Panama City, the volunteer team improved the Gaspar Octavio Hernández School in Juan Díaz, renovating key spaces to benefit the student community. In Colón, they transformed the En Busca de un Mañana School into a safer and more welcoming place for its students. Meanwhile, in Penonomé and the Central Provinces, efforts focused on the Agua Fría School, enhancing learning conditions.
In Chiriquí, AES promoted reading by delivering the Lucía Spark book collection to the Bilingual School of Gualaca. In Bayano, volunteers refurbished the La Riviera School and distributed books to foster a love of learning among children. In Changuinola, a reading activity was organized at the Bajo Gavilán School, bringing creative stories to students.
Additionally, at the Almirante Hospital in Changuinola, AES teams participated in a cancer-awareness campaign, distributing pink and blue ribbons to promote prevention and early detection as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
These actions, led by AES Panama and the AES Panama Foundation, highlight the company’s commitment to the well-being and development of communities. By “doing the right thing,” AES Panama strengthens community ties and encourages employee participation in building a more compassionate and ethical nation.
